Connecting WhatsApp now supports bringing a number you already have in Meta, in any country, and disconnecting keeps conversation history instead of deleting it.
Connecting a WhatsApp number now asks upfront whether you’re bringing a number you already have in Meta, or want a new US number provisioned for you. Bringing your own number now works in any country, and no longer fails at Meta’s authorization step the way it sometimes did before.
Each workspace is also isolated to its own provider account, so one workspace’s WhatsApp Business account can never block or interfere with another workspace’s numbers. Linking a number by ID is now verified against the provider first, so a mistyped ID reports an error immediately instead of leaving a connection that silently receives nothing.
WhatsApp connections can now be removed from the Integrations tab. A number with conversation history is disconnected, not deleted, so past threads stay in Team Inbox.
Available on Business and Enterprise plans.
