AI Document Extraction

AI Document Extraction allows respondents to upload a file and have ioZen automatically fill in the corresponding fields. This reduces manual typing and speeds up the intake process for cases like insurance claims, job applications, or identity verification.

You configure AI extraction within the field panel of a file upload question.

  1. Add a File field to your Intake Bot.
  2. Open the field settings and toggle AI Document Extraction to on.
  3. Add a document hint to describe what the AI should look for, such as “US driver license” or “utility bill”.
  4. You can optionally click Generate child questions to automatically create fields based on a sample document upload.

When you enable extraction, you can link other fields in your Intake Bot to the data found in the document. The AI extraction panel shows which child questions are tied to the file upload.

The respondent sees a standard file upload field. After they select or drop a file, the interface shows a “Reading your document…” indicator.

ioZen uses vision AI to analyze the file. Fields that meet a 60% confidence threshold fill automatically with the extracted data. If the AI is less certain about a value, the field stays blank for the respondent to enter manually.

Respondents review every pre-filled answer before the conversation continues. This ensures accuracy and gives people control over the data they submit.

AI Document Extraction works on file questions at any nesting depth. You can place an extraction field inside a conditional branch that only appears based on previous answers. The child questions generated by the AI behave like any other field and support their own nested branching logic.

AI Document Extraction is available on Pro, Business, and Enterprise plans.

  • Pro: 100 vision extractions per month.
  • Business: Unlimited vision extractions.
  • Enterprise: Unlimited vision extractions.

File upload size limits also vary by plan, ranging from 10MB on Pro to 100MB on Enterprise.
