Typeform changed how forms feel. ioZen changes what forms are for.
ioZen is a conversational intake platform. It replaces static forms with AI-guided conversations that adapt in real time, deliver content mid-flow, score each submission, and route leads into a built-in pipeline. Not a better form. A different approach entirely.
Typeform was the first tool to make forms feel like conversations. That was a real breakthrough. They continue to invest heavily in their platform and do several things very well.
Design and user experience
The one-question-at-a-time interface is polished and well-tested. Typeform's completion rates are genuinely higher than traditional multi-field forms, and the visual design options are among the best in the category.
Surveys, research, and quizzes
For customer surveys, NPS, employee feedback, market research, and interactive quizzes, Typeform is mature, feature-rich, and has thousands of ready-made templates.
Interaction AI (follow-up questions)
Typeform's AI can ask dynamic follow-up questions mid-form based on answers. This is a real feature that improves response quality in surveys and qualitative research.
Video questions and answers
Typeform supports recording and embedding video at every stage of a form. Useful for async interviews, testimonials, and interactive education. This feature does not exist in ioZen.
Integration ecosystem
120+ native integrations including HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, Mailchimp, Pipedrive, and more. If your workflow lives in those tools, Typeform connects cleanly via native integrations or Zapier.
Contacts and Automations
Available as a paid add-on ($25-75/month), Typeform can store 25,000+ contacts, segment them, and trigger automated email follow-up sequences. Solid for email nurturing flows.
Brand customization
Custom fonts, video backgrounds, brand colors, custom subdomains, and the ability to remove Typeform branding. The output can look genuinely premium.
Partial submissions
Typeform saves incomplete form data since 2024, so you can see where people dropped off. Useful for optimizing form completion rates.
Typeform's model is: build a form, collect responses, export or sync them elsewhere. ioZen's model is: replace the form with a conversation that qualifies in real time, delivers content based on answers, and routes submissions into a workflow without leaving the platform.
Typeform's Interaction AI can ask follow-up questions mid-form. This is a useful research feature. But the conversation still runs on pre-defined logic. If someone says their budget is "not sure yet," Typeform can ask a follow-up, but that follow-up is scripted or templated from a set you defined.
In ioZen, AI reads the actual content of each answer and decides in real time: is this complete? Is it vague? What is the most useful next question? The conversation adapts to what the person actually said, not to a logic tree you built in advance.
Typeform is one-directional: it collects. It cannot show a relevant case study when someone mentions their industry, display pricing options when someone asks about budget, or embed a personalized message at a specific moment. ioZen's Content Blocks let you inject text, images, video, links, or AI-generated content between questions based on what the respondent said. The conversation becomes an exchange, not a questionnaire.
When a Typeform is submitted, you get a response in their dashboard. From there you need other tools to act on it: Zapier to route it, HubSpot or Salesforce to manage the contact, and the Contacts add-on ($25-75/month extra) for email automation.
When someone completes an ioZen intake, the submission is scored by AI (Hot/Warm/Cold or any tier you define), routes automatically to the right stage in your Process Board, and creates or updates a Contact record with full history. No export, no sync, no extra tools. Everything is in one place because intake, pipeline, and contacts were designed together.
Typeform's response limits are restrictive at lower tiers. The Basic plan ($39/month or $28/month annual) gives you 100 responses per month. For most active businesses, that is too low. Business ($129/month or $91/month annual) gets you 10,000 responses, but if you want Contacts and Automations, that adds another $25-75/month on top.
Typical Typeform stack
ioZen equivalent
Every question can have AI enabled. When a respondent answers, AI reads the actual content and decides whether to accept it, ask a clarifying follow-up, or prompt for more detail. The conversation adapts to the person, not just a pre-built logic tree. Vague answers get qualified. Strong answers move forward.
Between questions, you can show relevant content: a case study based on their industry, pricing information based on their budget range, a short video, or an AI-generated message. The intake becomes a two-way exchange. The respondent gets value. You get better context.
When the conversation ends, AI scores the full submission using dimensions you define. Hot, Warm, Cold for sales. Strong, Moderate, Review for hiring. The score appears on the pipeline card before anyone opens it. Your team knows where to start without reading every submission.
Every submission routes into a visual Kanban-style pipeline stage based on rules you set. No Zapier, no webhooks to configure, no CRM sync to maintain. The lead lands in the right column for the right team automatically. Your team works from a board, not a spreadsheet of exports.
Every respondent becomes a contact linked to their pipeline card and full conversation history across all FlowApps. Not a list of submissions. A person record that shows every interaction, what they said, what stage they are in, and what happened next. No add-on fee, no separate tool.
Track which campaign, ad, and keyword brought each specific respondent at the individual submission level. Not just UTMs at the session level. You know which ads bring people who say they have a budget versus people who are still exploring. No developer required to set up.
